It wasn't as much of a war as it was a covert operation...

It started almost instantly except for the FBI warnings

Mine won't.... Still will utilize the HD DVD for awhile until the HD DVD drive becomes a book end.

Maybe, but I still watch HYPE, 12 honkeys and occassionally Gravity Sucks on VHS.

I don't see myself buying the same movies I already own on DVD or HD DVD on BR. If BR price drops then I will more than likely own both players, but I won't be getting rid of HD DVD.

I love me some HD DVD.

Amazon is running up to 50% off sale as well.

In that article in my post, they blame it on HDDVD. Saying since hddvd came out before them, they had to release early, without all features done. Its not there fault. Sheesh.

I have both the HDDVD for xbox, and a toshiba standalone player, I think the A2? It was not the lowend, not the highend. Neither have had load times that made me really notice much. Maybe a bit longer. But on bluray, its so bad, the discs have custom progress waiting graphics. I have NEVER seen that before. Sometimes its just 30 secs to a min, sometimes a couple of mins. Ratatouille the worst.

BTW, I've got the HD DVD player from Microsoft for my XBox 360. Load times are longer than regular DVD, but not really all that long.
