I have bought stuff from tiger, but have used newegg since it was a small pure geek place, and also, they have always taken care of me when stuff needs to be returned and such.
sometimes if you just buy a box that converts from digital to regular analog or both it will over ride the protection. Like if you have an old tv that doesn't have anything but a cable hook up.
Does this make any sense? let me try and find a pic.
Interesting thread. I just read it all for the first time.
Definitely copyright protections are a bunch of crap, so I will go HDDVD when I upgrade.
My VCR broke a few months ago, so I bought a combo with a DVD recorder, thinking that I could then copy all of my VCR tapes to DVD. Then they could be watched on the road as well. Hardly anyone makes or uses in car VCR players anymore.
Much to my dismay, many of my tapes have some kind of copyright protection and the DVD recorder will not record them. I think that is is a bunch of BS that I cannot copy most of the kids VCR tapes for the road.
You will all be NEWEGG converts by the time I am done with you. They are the best. I build custom servers for myself and special clients, I probably spend over 100k there a year, I love em.
That is why I am loking into buying three 6 inch cooling fans for my entertainment center. One fan on the bottom of the draw pushing air in and two other fans on the top sucking the air out. The fans are similar fans below but 120 volt ones.
Make sure they are super quiet, nothing ruins a good theatre like fan noise.
