Just go to newegg, and the ones by like linkdepot. Cheap, and work great. DVI, and HDMI are digital, so don't need MONSTER type cables, especially under 10ft. Analog cables, if the signal degrades slightly, you can hear it. Digital cables just transmit 1s and 0s, not waveforms. So a digital cable pretty much either works, or it don't.

Here is an article that helps explain that.

If you are using component, get good cables, if hdmi or dvi, and optical, the cheapies should be fine, I have never had an issue with the linkdepot cables at newegg.

Nothing is good enough for monster cables. The cheapies don't make that much difference, especially if the cable is digital.

best buy like any good store tells it's employees to see what they make the most money on. pretty simple economics.

Sony is paying mucho deniro to have Best Buy and Target employees sell consumers on BluRay being a better format. This is why I said to tell everyone you may talk to that there is no better format from a picture quality point of view. It is the same exact 0s and 1s on the discs; only Sony adds a few proprietary DRM related ones to hinder your use of the media.

Best Buy employees sell that BluRay is a better picture when it simply isn't true. Joe Consumer ends up spending $150-$200 more on a player that doesn't perform any better, AND he will have to purchase the same movies over again to get a standard player version for the kids rooms. HDDVD is almost always HDDVD on one side, and DVD on the other. All the players can use the same disc.

This is NOT a new idea from Sony. They have pushed several brands out of the market using their deep pockets. Ever hear of VPR Matrix....wonder why Best Buy just stopped selling them. It was a great line of computers from Best Buy. Sony forced BB to discontinue selling them b/c they were a much better buy. The one I had was using the same hardware I would have purchased had I built my own. Top notch first run components vs. the typical generic crapola found in a Dell, Sony, or an HP.

I haven't seen that, but that doesn't make sense, bluray is so much more expensive. That would mean that disney is more of a factor than I thought, cuz I can't think of any other reason.

The lowering of the PS3 will surely give the blueray people more lift and probably start selling the product a little more. However, I find it odd that over the Black Friday weekend, I think I saw an article that said that BlueRay sold 1000:1 over HD DVD... I have to go find the article and post into here. But again, I think it was a survey taken at the Best Buy stores....
