Here is the deck on my boat. You can really see how much I cut off. I think the look turned out perfect.

I can't cut it anymore. I cut it all the way to the brackets. The angle closest to the boat is just for looks. It's only a 1/2" from the the bracket.

Yep, that's the Rule 17A. Careful on your wiring and switches - that guy draws 20 amps and must be fused for 25.

Also: Most ballast switches are rated for 20ADC so you'll be right at their limit. The contacts may degrade faster than normal so keep an eye on switch reliability. You could do a relay-based system but that's even more complexity.

Looks like a fun project, keep us posted!

Wouldn't the Johnson impeller pumps be cheaper and simpler since you would only need one per bag?

Duffy I just went and looked at my 24v deck again and now realize you basically raped that deck. Damn and the sides too...hmmm. looks awesome though and I look forward to seeing the first monster wave. I've totally got sac envy. I settled for the 15 huns' and you went balls out with 18's..sigh. The brick idea is awesome too. I'm goin for that of course..in black. Maybe 2 of them

                            .. Sub'd

My fatbrick I tie on the deck actually has 100lbs of lead shot in it. So it weights roughly 240. It makes such a huge difference in the wave.

Ragboy, teak is a love and hate relationship. Since my boat will spend 6+ months in the water the teak will look pretty crappy pretty quickly. I actually plan on leaving my dual bow sacs full and thus keeping the teak out of the water and hopefully it will last longer.
