I will come and give you a surf session even if no one shows up.

I may just have to check with the wife about a vegas trip that weekend
She's gonna wonder why I have the boat hooked up though. LOL

Not everyone camps - probably the closest hotels are in Overton, NV. If you want a little nicer place to stay, search for Mesquite, NV hotels, or Las Vegas. They would require a little further drive, though.

If it remains closed, it looks like the only other option will be Calville? What's the word?
Where do you see that? Per the National Park Service's information, both the launch ramp and marina are open at Echo Bay: http://www.nps.gov/lake/parknews/rampconditions.htm

Is overton closed forever or will it reopen if/when the water level rises to a sufficient level to support overton?

Echo is open...or at least my buddy who was there recently launched. Water level is rising, so it should not be a problem. Wouldn't surprise me if we get back to the concrete ramp soon at this rate.

Plenty of us camp and as long as some ex-prisoners don't camp next to us, we have a great time. There were 30 miles of shoreline open, and last year a group shows up at dark and plays latin polka music until 3 am right next to us. Lovin' Powell tells them to quiet it down and the guy comes after him with a broken beer bottle. Other than that, the camping has been awesome!

I would have had to say my 45 friends would of visited them if they came at me like that. I don't know of any cop that would stand for that either.

You had to bring that back up didn't you? Just when I had almost put that completely out of my memory.

we will try to make it again this year.

We have always stayed at the echo bay hotel. Not the best in the world but it way better then driving into Henderson every night.

The Echo Bay hotel is closed. They brought in some houseboats that are tied up to the dock to use in place of a hotel room.

                            Echo bay ramp is open.

Is you launch at Callville, expect an almost 2 hour cruise up to the reunion site.

I wouldn't mind that, but my wife gets bored so we will launch at Echo this year.

Will there be free stuff? Because I am not going to drive over 300 miles and pay for all that gas unless I get a free key chain or something!

You had better show up this time.
