How do you get it to look like that with a gate. Listed yes, gate I can't.

I have the M Delta for my R20 .... still tweaking, but so far I'm really happy. I have upgraded 1,000# sacks in the rear lockers and 300# of lead up front (half in storage in front of driver and half in same spot on opposite side). Front sacks are factory and I've been running them full. I surf reg, so surf side rear at 100% and non-surf side at ~80%. Delta is set up with plate forward, all the way back on the boat and ABOVE the step/chine (gate does nothing for me below the chine). 10.4 mph and TAPS on 4. Wave is very long, lots of push and no issues with gate popping off. Fells like I got a new boat - that I didn't need but really like!

And +1 for the all-plastic floating M Delta! A buddy of mine had the Wake FX. Kept popping off, and on one occasion it flew back into the boat, nearly hit his daughter in the head and, upon impact, tore/punctured the cushion on the rear corner. Shortly after that it came off again, safety line broke and it sunk. I think, in his eyes, it was a good ending to their relationship. I let him use my M Delta and he bought one for himself.

Totally worth the $450 not having to try out homemade suc gates, just slap it on weight it down and surf

Here is what my suckgate fully listed wave looked like.

This is with a crew of 10 adults. 1850# surf side rear, 500# off side rear. 450# bow surf side, 700# of lead rear surf side. 12.0-12.5mph. Slowing down helped the height a little, but not enough. Changed the height and shape so much. It was doing a full barrel though.

^^^Not like your wave needed any help but, that's a hell of a lot of real estate to work with. How much did you mess with the placement of the gate?

I think the photo angle is odd. It's just slightly longer then my normal listed wave. Just push further back, and not as tall. I tried a few placements, but this is as far back and as low as possible.

That wave looks much flatter then your listed wave Duffy.... Definitely long but super flat IMO

My listed wave is very large- meaty. I might go out and try to neutrally weight the boat again, with say 1100 or so in each locker. I don't want to give up on it, but I don't think a gate wave will ever beat my heavily listed wave.

I played with suckgate again yesterday on my 22ve, the starboard side wave pretty good but I am more concerned with my port side for me, I ran full mla sac, all factory full 400 front, 250x2 in rear and about 4-500 offside weight. made a new suckgate that is more like surfgate, sticks to side of boat but gate is at platform like surfgate is. My conclusion- wave does not have the same lip as listed, it has a distinct line in wave 2/3 way up. What is better is that the wave is harder for sure, can go slower and have a harder wave, the other thing I noticed was how far out into the flats I could go. I had never been so wide of the boat, that was a def. bonus. If I could get rid of line in wave might be onto something. At work right now, will post pics of new gate later for anyone who wants to see. It also changed the wave closer to the boat.

                                Duffy-

It kinda looks like too much "effect" from the gate. I really liked the way the wave formed up having the gate very far forward on the 21v. We had the gate basically flush with the front of the rear lockers and it seemed to have more power and more height with a better lip. Not sure if you tried it that far forward on your completely different hull but it's worth a shot.

Finally gonna try it out on my boat tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
