Here are a few shots of the wave off my 22V with the ronix wake shaper. Wasn't able to surf behind the boat yet, but I'll be able to this next weekend. Even rear locker ballast with the bow bag filled. 11.2 . Looking forward to playing with it a bit more. Maybe add more weight.

Made a ronix knockoff after demoing one about 6 months ago...... It can be done for 60 bucks on amazon.

Two of those bolted together makes for an amazing wave....

That wave is straight up incredible. I need to get on this.

How much ballast did you have?

@elevatedconcept you said the angle is the thing that matters, what is that angle? I made one out of compressed styrofoam, also inslucation for siding, and I made mine 24L x 12H x 12W. From what you say it looks like yours being 28 inches long and 16 inches tall it should be about the same degree. Thoughts?

The new delta is 11 degrees according to cad. Seemed just a bit steeper then what I could see in photos so I went with 10 degrees on mine. Honestly I don't think an inch one way or another is gonna make a difference but who knows.

I have a hodge-podge set up, but it's paid for. I have a bow sack, that I think is about 650 when full. I have a tube bag under each seat on the side, I think they are 350ish each and then I have another bag in each locker, I think they are 400ish. There was only 2 adults in the boat. Playing with the TAPS would shape the wave from curl to no curl. If I stood up front in the bow, it seemed to lengthen the wave but get rid of the curl. I'm really hoping to get the wave dialed in and get some time behind it this weekend.

That's a beautiful wave! I have about the same ballast as you in my RZ4 and just made my own wake shaper. Trying it out this weekend. Crossing fingers it helps! Oh and I will have 13 people in the boat this weekend so im sure that will help!

                    This looks great!

What would be fantastic is if there was a way to get a Delta Mission Wakesurf panel to prernrgod so that there would be a fair comparison between the Ronix and Delta Mission wave add ons. It would just be fun to see how the manufactured products compare to one another in the same environment.

prernrgod, maybe reach out to Delta and see how they feel about a head to head comparison? I am sure there are alot of people interested considering how many posts there are to this thread, now multiply that by all the different forums and I am sure a that would gain some interest.

Are there any people that would consider investing together in both items and ship them between TO members for the season to see results on different rigs? We currently don't have a tow boat, but I would be willing to contribute some $$$ to the effort as it could benefit me in the future.

Well, I'm building a homemade Delta Gate today that I hope I wont need with the adjustments I've made to my TAPS 21. If I end up not needing it I'd be happy to send it on. I doubt the homemades produce less of a wave VS the Delta.

I'm up for whatever. I'm really dying to get on the water to try it out. I agree it looks great, but I'm reserving judgment until I can actually ride it. I was pretty happy with my old setup and didn't mind sinking one side of the boat to get a decent wave. I was going to invest in new bags and an auto fill setup this last winter, but I saw this at the boat show and convinced the family CFO that 550 was cheaper than what I was planning.

I will shoot Delta an email and let everyone know how it goes.

I forgot I had video. The curl was at the very end of my surf rope, so I'm guessing 14-15 feet behind the boat ??

How did you/he mount it to the hull? Velcro? Happen to have any pics?

                            Thanks.

I will post some pics later, but I got behind boat today. My daughter took the first pull and she immediately gave the thumbs up. She said that the wave had a lot more push than the previous setup. She also noted that she could surf at the very end of the rope. The wife was up next and she had the same report. She really enjoyed the longer wave which gave her more room to play around. My buddy was up next. Historically he has an issue finding the spot and getting slack in the rope. With this setup, that is no longer an issue. He was able to keep slack on the rope with no issue. I was up next. I didn't notice any more push than last season, but the pocket was definitely bigger. Normally I'm riding right off the back of the swim deck, and if I get to far back, I can't get back in the pocket. With the wake shaper, the pocket was way bigger.

We did notice that the boat was more weight position sensitive, if that makes sense. Depending on who was surfing, we would shift people around to play with the height and length. Speed didn't seem to affect it to much.

Overall, I was happy with the results. Only having to fill the bags once was nice. My wife and daughter and buddy are all goofy foot, but my other buddy is regular foot, so having to unvelcro the wedge and move it to the opposite side for my other buddy was simple.

I did receive an email back from Mission Boat Gear and they said that they are planning to do a side by side comparison between both products in a magazine article. They didn't say which " major magazine" it was going to be or when.

What is the material that you used for this? I purchased the suction cup and want to make one very similar to yours (approximate dimensions on pieces?). Not sure mine will look as nice.
