ConvexVX retrofit getting installed on 2013 RZR, Stoked!!!

Here are a couple of pics from my local dealer getting the VX installed today. Boat just went in for its 20 hour service and the VX has been there for about a week.

Anybody need a swimplatform for a R20/RZR? LOL

Congrats! Can't wait to hear how easy/difficult the install is!

Spoke with the dealer today. He said it was a lot more difficult that anticipated on the install. All the brackets come pre drilled but the new platforms do not. So measuring, drilling, tapping and mounting up all the hardware was a bit more difficult than anticipated. But with that said they did get it done and they are probably just as stoked as we are.

      Finished product!

I installed one on my z3 and it is a fair bit of work. Measuring, aligning, measuring, marking 16 holes. Drilling on an off camber angle to the plat form. Then tapping each hole. This has to be done on the new platform and the vx .

I'm hoping to get mine tuned up soon !

"...tapping each hole". Are there metal (presumably aluminum) stringers in the platform and VX that you tap?

Yes you drill through the fibre glass into an aluminum plate about 3/8thick but have to ensure you don't go though the other side. Then use a bottoming tap for the machine screws.

It wasn't hard but it takes time and lots of measuring.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Any concern about your transom straps rubbing? I am picking up some straps today and am thinking about just putting some cloth between the straps and the VX

Thanks supreme! Yeah, we are concerned about it. But looking at the Z1 on the dealers lot with VX it is setup exactly the same on the boatmate trailer. I may do the same as you are talking with some sort of cloth or other protective non abrasive material. We can say though that this is the first Tige in South Dakota with VX that will be on the water. Can't wait to surf tomorrow. Picking it up this afternoon after work. Dealer is about 45mins away. It will sit in the drive way tonight, hopefully I don't drool to much

Here's what I put on my trailer to offset the transom straps to clear the VX

Searching the site for Bracket Kit I found this http://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/boat.../0000000002491

Did you use it to offset the brackets to go further outside from the VX?

Hey zroutt, what lake do you guys go to? We are headed up to Spearfish/Rapid City area soon and was just curious as to what waters we could possibly boat on.
