Anybody need water?

The lake I ride on (Lewisville) was down 10ft from its normal level in August. Today its 8ft over normal level. Most of the ramps in the local lakes up here are closed due to high water. Ill post some pictures on how high the water is this weekend.

Its been raining literally everyday for the last two months in the Dallas area. In the month of May it rained 21 days. Im friggin sick of it since it has limited my riding time.

Oh and it supposed to rain all week.

All my friends in Norman are the same way. They are fed up with it. I get a weather forcast everyday and all it says is t-storms, t-storms and t-storms.

It really has to suck!

Yeah, this flooding is crazy, my buddies and I are wondering if we will be able to get out on Travis NEXT weekend.

I wonder what would happen if Lake Travis approached the spillway, would they open more floodgates to attempt to keep it from flowing over? I would think so, that would seem to allow them to regulate the flow a little bit anyways. But who knows, if we get another 19 inches in a night we are screwed. That is scary to think about, I will stop now.

I think you're screwed. Lake Travis is still rising and there's still a ton of water coming down the river north of Buchanan. So far, we're in ok shape, but the water's kind of a mess. I'll know more when I get up there Saturday afternoon.

you can send some rain this way, we got 3 inches all last year!! ha ha ha, and they are talking about draining the near by lake! or pond, what ever you want to call it.

What Dallas is getting is everyday here in South La. The tropical moisture comes in for afternoon thunderstorms everyday.

Of course it was hot and sunny this weekend, so the torture of flooded/closed lakes was even worse! Going to have to trek out to Canyon Lake next weekend if Travis is not open. Anyone on Tige' owners know anything about the condition of Canyon Lake? The Corps of Engineers site did not have it closed and the level was high but not in flood stage.

Dogbert - did you make it out on Buchanan?

Here is an example of how high the water is at our local lake. The first picture was in the winter of 05. Notice we are under the bridge with about 20ft of clearance.


The next set of pictures was from This Friday. Lewisville Lake is now 11ft over normal and its expected to rain for the next 10 days. To put this in to perspective we did manage to see an 05 21i squeeze under the bridge. The owners literally had to push there tower down under the bridge to clear some parts of it. The only had a few inches of clearance from the top of the tower. Definitely something I wouldn't do.

The marina that I am a member of is one of only two ramps that are currently open on a 29,000 acre lake. It was a damn circus this weekend trying to get off the lake in the afternoon.

wow!! you guys sure are getting a lot of water. My friends called me this weekend and said the local lake is closed this year not due to lack of water, but TOO MUCH water. All the ramps are now UNDER water as opposed to last year they were OUT of the water. Man how a year changes everything.

looks like my home town is gonna get flooded worse then 85 if it keeps on raining. Oh well. Not much I can do from here.

All the lakes upstream are at max holding and then some, and the same thing happened in 85, they held it all in, thinking it would stop raining, it didn't, so they had to emergency open all the gates or loose the dams, and by by town. Oh well, good thing my dad is in a 1000 yr flood plain, so he will be ok.

We got the outer edge of the southern stuff, nothing major just overcast and occasional showers and thunderstorms.

Cheer up dom eventually california is going to break off of the mainland, so all you have to do is stick around for a million years or so.
