Now I wonder about my hull, Part of the reason I bought a Tige was because of the thick hull. My dealer had a piece from the bottom of a BU and a piece from a Tige ( maybe a old boat HAHA) that was 3 times as thick as the BU.

On the side where I drilled the vents the thickness was what I expected.

This could explain how Lunchbox's 20v sank so easily - if it was the thicker piece like you have shown here, it would have taken a lot more to rip the hull out of the bottom with the tracking fins like it did.

I had to go buy different (smaller) screws for the through hull, because the original screw was 1" long would have gone through the hull.

I just hope the 1/4 inch thick hull can hold the stress of the ballast manifold

I am very concerned about this.... Is Tige going Cheap on the hull?

Did Lunchbox ever post pic of the hull after the boat sunk? did he see it?

Maybe because they have never had a claim with they hull warranty, Pigeon thought he cold save some coin..

I don't want to go on a rant here, or over react.... but I was sold on the thickness of the hulls and the safety it was to provide for my family if we ever did take a hit.

I was at my dealer today, who just got back from Tige University on Fri. Apparently Tige has a new production manager. All the new 08's have a 1.25" thick hull.

I dont know if u saw this or not korgae.... of course it doesn't help the older boats

What size are your vents thru the hull and what size pick-up on the bottom did you use. I am going to do a system like yours and I need to start rounding up some of the materials so I can get this project started. Where did you buy these parts as well as your pumps? Andrew said he would help also, but he said he will be without his computer for a while. I will call him today and see if he has some talk time.

The 1.25" is almost 4 times thicker than what I got on the hull.

All the vent holes are 1", the thru the hull is about 1 1/4".

Andrew got all the parts for me, he also helped me drill the holes and wire the pumps.

I would send him a PM and he has a list of all the parts you need. In my case, we both went to Lowe's the night before and got all the plumbing part. The fittings, pumps, thru the hull and vent parts he got it for me.

I was very disappointed as well with the thickness , but I don't think Tige will do anything about it. They will still honor the warranty if anything happens to the hull, but it does not give me the warm and fuzzy felling anymore that I am riding a very solid boat.

I think the thickness is bellow average from other companies (MU and MC). With this kind of thickness I don't think they can claim that they build the most solid boat on the market.

The early 08 were built in 07.

At the same time when I bought my boat in 07 I was still let to believe that the hull was the thickest and the most solid on the market.

Now that my system is almost done I would like to give a HUGE THANKS to Andrew, without his good pricing and especially his willingness to fly to Utah to help on getting started I wouldn't have done it.

I give Tige this, one of the best things they have on their favor is it's Owners, and Andrew is the living prove of that!
