if i do get a new fuel pump, whats the replacement process like? Do i have to relieve pressure before disconnecting the line? and how to you even connect the new line?
My biggest headache was it broke full of fuel, so the tank was 500-ish pounds to drag out, in a weird position, so that was a back breaker. I’d definitely siphon or pump the fuel out of the tank, before I did it that way again. I pulled the whole center section of my floor out of the boat, so it was out of my way. Other than that it’s kind of a take it apart, and put it back the same way sort of process. You do need a special tool (like $10 from any auto parts store) for those high pressure fuel fittings not sure what they’re called) don’t try and use pliers or something you’ll mess them up. I didn’t do anything to relieve pressure. I’m going to put a pressure gauge inline somewhere to check that pressure if this ever happens again. If you checked that pressure, before you messed with that pump, you’d at least know that much. Also keep in mind I have an RZX, so it might be a little different, but guessing it isn’t all that much different.

thank you. i dont need to remove my tank the pump comes right out the top. Sounds pretty straight forward then. I have to check how my hose connects to the regulator i didnt see the crimp fitting.

That’s good news, pulling the tank back was the biggest hassle, I do remember that part. You can see what those fitting look like on mine, and those are the tools to release those pressure fitting. Good luck with it, happy to help where I can!!

update, i got a malibu fuel pump off ebay, its a 2021, mines a 2023.. so already not feeling great. Then, it doesnt fit in my fuel tank, too tall. So i tore both apart to make the inards of the 'new' one fit inside the old one, buttoned it up and it started fine. now to test it out on the water, ill update this again eventually
