I would love to see that! Who knows with all the new surf boats hitting the market with massive ballast potential it may become a reality as the demand for low end performance and a decent cruise speed converges.

Drag boats have been using two speeds forever. I always knew to hang on as tight as possible when my uncle would turn his hat backwards and grab the shifter.

MB did a 2 speed transmission. Don't believe they had a ton of luck with it. Believe it was a ZF trans but I would have to see the one we service to remember. Its also been done in the performance world in other applications

e2 tower is right around 5k.....

2/1 is not an option and wont be to my knowledge.

I wonder what an R23 would be like with a 400 and 2:1? Is that possible? Are you going to be at our boat show next week?
You can order the power tower (e2) on an R series as well. Just fyi. No idea on price difference between it and the m2 manual tower. As far as I can tell the m2 and e2 are the same basic frame, the e2 just has the pieces that fill in the cutout space and the bases are a bit different, and of course power folding.
I would bet that getting the 2:1 in a z3 would be doable, but who knows. Kinda doubt they would want to put one in an r23, but it's all pure speculation. One this is for sure, if you optioned the e2 on an r23 and they let you option a 2:1, the price is going to start creeping up into new z3 price range, so the savings you normally get by going to an r series would be a lot less.

I'm also interested in a 2018 B52 23. Not sure how they are with the 440. Will that be enough? Any RZX3 with a 460 or charger would be good too. As a last resort, if I could find a great deal on a taps 3 Z3 or R23 I could go that route. The only boat that had a wave during the test that really impressed me was jasons RZX2 at mead. Other boats should have, but they didn't. So it's hard to spend $100k on a wave that I have right now. It just makes so much sense to me to dump $10k into mine.

I have always thought the Z3 or R23 was your boat but you pivoted. You really should spend some time in either of those correctly setup. Killer wave, and wont have the power issues especially if you go 440 or 575. I think I could get Tige to build you a Z with the 2/1.

I will continue to say this....... Setup is so important. I have hours and hours in most of the new Tige and Supras learning the quirks of each one. Most people just dont spend that time and are content with getting something surfable.

This is a perfect example at how different hulls can be in regards to how they travel thru the water. While overall weight and length is important, it only really tells half of the story in regard to efficiency etc.

So basically the same. My boat is probably 1000# heavier? As a guess.

Interesting - we are at 1844'. Obviously we are not even close to comparing apples here, but since it is a Tige forum... I run about 4500 lbs total ballast at 3200 rpm (I can actually adjust the rpm by adjusting my avx, but average is 3200). I can also cruise easily at 25 mph at roughly 3800 rpm. That is all done with the big ol' Raptor 400...
