I have a 07 rz2 MP 5.7 with a leaking raw water pump. How hard is it to replace the seal. Bought the boat used and a dealer replaced the impeller last year and I am surprised it’s leaking.

I got the Jabsco impeller from Amazon (Jabsco 18777-0001-P, Neoprene, Drive Type 7, 10 Blade, 2-1/4 Diameter, 2 Width, 5/8 Shaft, Brass Insert) and the housing is Jabsco but for some reason that gasket doesn't align with cover housing.

    Hi all,
Not that anyone else might not know but I'll direct my inquiry toward Lee as he is a guru.
I have a 04 22V with the MP engine. Got the impeller out (elbow grease and needle nose pliers) and the new one in. Went to put the new gasket on that came with the impeller. The problem is: the holes and general circumference of the new gasket (kinda of paper-ish) does not match the template/ housing cover. So, I was lucky/smart enough to keep the old gasket (cloth like material) and I gingerly put that one back on the housing and closed it up. I have not tested it for leaks yet (still in the driveway) however, what do you suggest for a new gasket if I do need one? I'll need one at some point anyways so thought I'd ask before I get stuck looking for one.

Thanks. I believe it's a Johnson Pump. The boat is a 2007 20i, with the 5.7 marine power vortec.

You would need to look at the pump and see what pump you have.

    Hi Lee,
The boat that I purchased has the Jabsco impeller installed, but the previous owner left the old impeller in the boat as a spare. The old impeller is the Johnson. If they are different sizes, will the jabsco cause any damage?

New boat owner here, trying to learn all the things.
Is there a difference in the quality of the Jabsco impeller versus the Johnson 812-B?

My new impeller did not come with any lube... Any suggestions? I plan on doing it tonight and hope I can use something I have around the garage or house.

Got the impeller changed, don't know how I would have done it without the puller tool, took a total of 15 minutes, super easy, thanks for the help!!
