I have the fake-alake with the hook on it that I got from my dealer for about $40. I really don't need it now that I have added the flush-pro.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

that is what I did, now I winterizerize when I am pulling the boat out of the water for the last time (fogging) and stabilizer when it is right on the trailor on the launch...then do the remaining winterization on dry land.

I plumbed a 1.25x3/4 PVC Tee into the cold water inlet hose ahead of the v-drive and put a ball valve and hose adapter on the 3/4 heater hose that I secured back by the transom in the engine compartment.

When the engine's off the water from the garden hose runs out the strainer; when its running the seawater pump pulls all the water it needs. There is no need for fancy check valves and such.
