The plastic housing that sits on top of the dash. I think I am going to glass a new one.

This is a very interesting thread for me since I own a 1995 2002FSLM that I bought new and maintain myself. Due to life situations, it only has 250 hours of freshwater usage and lives in my backyard most of the time. So, it's fun to see photos of the hull stripped.
My boat has a little bit of oxidation on one side, broken glove box hinges, and I've replaced the speedometers. These are the only real issues I've had with it, although the steering linkage is getting troublesome at the steering wheel and the plastic dash is starting to have some issues. When I replaced one of the speedos this week, the Oil Pressure Gauge came out and needed to be reattached. Then the hour meter came out and needed a bit of superglue. It's like of stupid how they attached the gauges to the plastic dash instead of to the underlying plywood and glass. The best solution would be to make a new panel but it would have to be much worse for me to consider that.
This boat has one of the best slalom wakes on the lakes and gets compliments for its sharp looks. I use a SkyHigh Pole for wake boarding and a Barefooting Intl. Boom for barefooting. I have to keep power on while crossing my own wake with the low front to avoid swamping and I can't imagine taking this boat into rough water, which obviously has caused quite a few people issues in the past. I'm thinking of adding some ballast for wake surfing but am concerned about the low freeboard this boat has. I built a surf gate that attaches to the teak platform but it didn't seem to help the wake at all. In fact, this boat has a really clean wake on both sides, just not very large. If anyone has surfed behind one of these I'd like to know their setup.

So the tab on the rotary portion doesnt reach in to the port of the tilt helm?
I think yours was this style. 1995 would have been built in California and not at the Texas factory so i'm unsure of which setup yours had.
