Ok, I removed the neutral button cover and the 3 small screws seemed snug and un-disturbed. I removed them and slid the throttle handle off so I was looking at the brass throttle mechanism. I tried to push the brass post in but still can’t seem to get it to move in far enough to change the situation. I attempted to rev the engine with the post pushed in as far as it would go (maybe 1/8 inch) and it still engages the transmission and prop.
so I assume this means the actual brass mechanism has an issue...? I don’t see any other adjustment opportunities.
