In defence of the 60's, he heard them WAAAYYY underpowered and probably untuned as it sounds like they were hung and powered up.

I am not sure of your prices down in the States, but the salesman charged me an extra $200 canadian to up grade.

I have 2 of those Kenwood amps...they really are good. They work especially well down here in TX where it gets hot because the built-in fans keep 'em cool.
