IDK. Lot of factors. Some of the mechanical guys can pipe up. Region typically has an affect on salaries. Not always but many times companies prefer and give the larger salaries to those that have moved around. Again not always but a lot of times if you are with a company there is not a lot of incentive to give you a big bump, meaning you have to negotiate good when first getting hired. I know guys that have worked 15 year or more at the same place. Another guy starts either the same time or after then leaves. Comes back and is making double. Not always the case but I have seen it. It is interesting because the companies that are toting company loyalty are the ones rewarding those that are not.Originally posted by bryce2320 View PostWould 120k be realistic after 3-5 years. I know it depends what your doing, but hopefully if I get my foot in the door, when and if I do get a BA, I'd already b inside a huge compdny that is hiring a ton of engineers now.

Its not the diesel that makes the tow vehicle, its the torque and Hp. A gas'r with similar specs and proper gearing will do the job just as well. Its just that truck manufacturers has moved away from those larger, hi-HP gas engines in favor of the the diesels.Originally posted by Bruizza View PostI am not denying diesel tows better that is a no brainer. However the lake we go to the most is 1.5 miles from my driveway to the boat ramp. We go on 1 big trip a year (Powell) and it is 630 miles each way. For me the added cost of the diesel for that one trip a year aint worth it at this point. We do some other shorter trips of maybe 100-150 miles each way and my truck has never had any problems. Looks like we can just use my bro's diesel for those trips from now on.
Now, the WHY manufacturers have moved away from large gas engines is another story as well as the pros and cons of a large gas as compared to a diesel is as well.

We won't ride this winter if it's too cold outside, probably less than 70 degrees. We will have many days this winter that are in the 70's - 80's where the water temp will be too cold to ride without something.Ain't no 1/2 steppin'
