I haven't been on your route 2 but it probably better than route 1. I went in that area to look for some lakes last year. Lots of nothing on small roads.

Tom Tom thinks I should take I-25 down to las Vegas, NM and pick up I-40 near there and take I-40 across to OK. Have you guys driven that way? What about mountains and snow this time of year? I guess staying on interstates is better than small back roads.

What route would you take if you flew? The one closest to that is usually best. Roads have been good and weather has been very mild this year. But that can change in 5 minutes...

I would Update your Tom Tom, Wyoming is now open for year round access...

Plus the I 25 I use does not directly connect to Vegas? or Nevada, Or Washington
