I think the reverse sccop is a good idea. Many people have done that mainly as some sort of strainer for the incoming water. Can you show some pics of where the pumps are mounted?

How much hose did you use and what size. You could have purchased 50 feet of the hose I used for $50. I think it should be fine though

    Andrew
I need to place an order with you for an item but the catalog shows an incorrect part number. I will shoot you an email tonight when I have all the correct details

Guys thanks for your help on the electrical.

Tall, We went back and forth on the Mushroom 2" pick up, three individual pickups, and this scoop pick up. When talking to Jabsco they felt the scoop in reverse was the best idea and would be sufficient for filling. We have not had the boat in the lake yet to test it and it may pick up water while on the go we do not know that answer just yet.

One thing we do know is that the garden hose on full blast was not sufficient to feed the pump 100%. And we pumped the bag half full in 2.5 minutes. The draining took about two minutes.

The other reason I like the scoop idea is there is some protection to not pick up small sticks and rocks from the lake. If you do and they get through the strainer they will go through the pump with out to much damage. That was one of the things Jabsco liked about the idea also.

With the location of where we put the manifold I think our longest run of hose is from the manifold to the front pump and it maybe 10' at the most. Yes the hose can in some way kink easy. Cost started to become a factor. It was $145.00 for the hose or $77.00 for the hose. Even if we did use the braided hose we are not guaranteed that the hose would not kink. The system is laid out in a way that most everything has a direct shot anyways.

In the future if the hose does become kinked it will be very easy to change out the hose now that we have it laid out.

I hope this helps to answer some of the questions. We can build a very bullet proof systems but then we have to weigh the cost and rewards. Master-Craft has a very nice system. Add $4000.00 to the price of the boat because of it though. We will see how this goes and I think it will work out just fine in the long run. We need to get the switches going and get the boat on the lake for a test run. Then we will really know.

Glad it all worked out. I know doing my switches I had everything working outside the boat and then when I installed I was blowing the fuse. Pain in the butt to find my crossed wire. Did I ever say how much I hate electrical

we just figured it out. I and was going to post the wiring and as i went through the posts i saw your last sketch....exactly like ours. Thanks everyone, Much appreciated. Just so you know looks like there is a diode in the switch and if you are not careful it may be mistaken for a short........Will try this tomorrow and see what happens.......

With it mounted backwards when you are draining the bags you do not have to worry about overcoming any Head pressure, and backwards it actually creates a vacuum and pulls the water out faster. When mounted forward the pumps we were told would have a hard time overcoming the pressure of the water, esp while driving. At the volume they pump by the time G turns off the boat, and turns the pumps on the bags will be full before he even gets the rope out or the boards on.

The hose that you used might be able to kink, thus allowing it to stop flow. I especially hope that is not the hose on the overflow. If your overflow kinks, then your bag blows up.

I agree with this statement and this is the only part of the system I do not like. HOWEVER that being said this hose is so much cheaper and when installed correctly it will not kink. Each to his own, and they can always replace it. I'm not sure how the decision process was made on it. I was not involved in that.

Mental note to self: connect switches and pumps outside the boat and make sure they are labeled properly. I am sure it was a PIA to repeatedly crawl under the dash and rewire things.
it was a learning experience. I wish I had those switches, so much easier then mine.

Over all I was really surprised how simple and easy it was to install the system.

I just want to give a HUGE thanks to SPBFAN and Doms for helping us.
    no problem and any time.

Great write up boys. You make it so appear easy that we might just have to install a system on our 05 24V.
    Thanks.
