I have not used in on a river, but the box anchor would work great even in current...unless you are trying to stop in the middle of the colorado river rapids.Originally posted by bigbillyboy View PostI know the box anchor gets tons of love, but does it work well for rivers. We go out on the Columbia river near Portland and it would be nice to have something to throw in so we can just hang out and not drift. Is there something better?Be excellent to one another.

It works best in soft stuff, but I have to imagine on a rocky river bottom it will have as good a hold as anything. I use my small box all the time and it does work well on what I would call a "pebbley" bottom.Originally posted by bigbillyboy View PostI know the box anchor gets tons of love, but does it work well for rivers.
