I've seen websites selling anchor winches. I think most of them are for fishing or pontoon boats does anyone have one, use one or know if they make one for ski boats?

I don't think our boats are heavy enough to need an anchor wintch. A couple of wenches, on the other hand, are always good to have around.Be excellent to one another.Comment

I have a 24Ve, and I bought a mushroom river anchor, and its coated with plastic. I didn't want the metal anchor I had on my last boat, and tear the upholstery or something since the 24Ve doesn't have an anchor locker up on the very tip of the bow. This little anchor was cheap, and it works well. It works even if a bit windy, but I am sure if it got real windy, it wouldn't work too well. We just use the anchor for swimming and picnicking, and works perfect.Originally posted by five o'clock View Post

There has been plenty of discussion about the box anchor. I have one and it is the bomb. When anchored properly, I think I wouldn't move in a hurricane.Be excellent to one another.Comment

2 box anchors and a shore spike. Twice we found a beach, anchored and spiked and then off we went to play. Boat broke down and glad I had second anchor to keep us drifting into the rocks waiting for vessel assist.Let it be!!!Comment

I know the box anchor gets tons of love, but does it work well for rivers. We go out on the Columbia river near Portland and it would be nice to have something to throw in so we can just hang out and not drift. Is there something better?Comment
