Very good point - something I never thought of. To your point I would guess manufactures have to be careful about what they tell their customers what to do...

If you read your manual, mine says not to exceed the plate capacity with people n ballast

Being the owner of a 21v for the past 6 years and wanting to upgrade to a more of a price point boat in the next couple of years, I have some input here. I have spent 600+ hours on my boat over the past few seasons and learned a lot. Also having friends with G23s, G25s, 23LSVs, Supremes and Centurions, I have surfed a fair amount of different waves. I have to say my number one thing is a truly OUT OF THE BOX dialed in wave. Every new boat I have been on has an OK wave from the factory and it still takes time to get things looking decent. They have all been FAR from dialed in though. I am a fan of the G's, but every one with a killer wave is loaded with lead. I want to see a boat with a 100% consistent wave that is dialed from the factory. When you spend this kind of money on boats, I can't believe the time it takes to get them dialed in. Even if the new boat takes some lead - that is just fine, but let me know how much I need and where to put it. But needing new props, more weight, and hours on the water 'testing' just doesn't sit right with me especially in a new 'surf' boat. I put the time in with my 21v and understand that's what it takes with an older boat.

I know wave quality is subjective, but I think we all have a fairly good idea of what we look for - clean face, push, size, etc.

Lawers maybe, but not the coast guard. their boat "regulations" really arent regulations for fresh water boats.

Have you surfed these boats yet? Is there one or two, or maybe more models? Do they run taps3 or GSA? How much lead do they need to maximize the surf potential?

Not necessarily. Dealers had the option to carry them separate of the Tige lineup.

With the shift of Tige dealer here in town to Austin Boat, I wonder if they will have one. May have to drive to Abilene to get a look :P

What do you hope to see from the ATX brand of boats? Size, features, colors.......

First off, hi lee! Haven’t conversed with you in a while. Hope all is well.

What I’d like to see out of new boat line up is NOT another F’ing surfboat. Just about every boat out now, especially from Tige is built for surfing. You know what I rarely see? People who can surf worth a chit. For the most part it’s a bunch of band wagoners. It’s driven the industry to build surf boats. All of em. Is there anyone who doesn’t have their latest and greatest surf system installed on everything they sell? There’s a whole world of water sports out there besides wakesurfing.

...and still, not one manufacturer will build the one ground breaking surfboat that no one has. You want to change the industry? Built it. Until then, “new” surfboat has zero meaning to me.

What I would like to see is a simple boat with gauges and switches. No touch screens. Simple to work on. Easy to maintain. Easy to upgrade. A good slalom wake (think GS22). A simple, sturdy tower that you can get color matched to the boat. A decent surfwake that is automatic (think 21v). Less freeboard!

I agree with this. I LOVE the fact that my 21v is simple, has switches, easily accessible wires, etc. An average person like myself can do all of my own work and not worry I am going to destroy some high dollar electrical system. The only thing I would change about my 21v and the reason I would like to upgrade is the freeboard. I would like to sit a bit higher out of the water as we keep our boat on a very busy lake. Otherwise keep it SIMPLE like you said...!
