Finally pulled the Trigger on a GSA system.

Testing started but by no means compete. Still working on the goofy side, but regular side has got me excited.

Early results are very promising!

German--how did it feel? It looks big and strong, but want to know how the strength felt, how your boat ran, what elevated had to say, etc.....
My MB took a while to dial--both as a function of the boat and a function of how I interpreted results. But damn the wave is so strong.

Felt good, Push was good at 10-12 feet back, boat ran great but suspect I will need to reprop soon I have a loaner 1235 I need to get on there. Elevated I think enjoyed it would not have gotten to where I did with the wave without his advice. Its gonna take more weight and more time to dial in but I think with a 10-12 more hours and some finite tweeks it will be a monster. I am gonna try and get out again soon if I can, I will get some pictures and video. I know Ryan at GSA is stoked to get some video so I need to get out soon.

Looks awesome German! Good to hear that they've put it on a 22ve already as that's what I own. I'm curious as to how the plates would affect the wake for wakeboarding? Obviously you'd run with them up. Have you cruised around 21-22 mph with them on your boat yet? I know you guys are gearing your 24ve towards surfing but I love to wakeboard too so it'd be a deal breaker for me if it washed the wave out at those speeds.

So I was concerned about them dragging in the water as well, so I did, I drained everything (minus the lead in the back) and ran it up to 24mph. There was NO negative effects on the wakeboard wake, I was able to move and tune the wake with Taps2 no problem and saw no negative effects of the wake. Keep in the mind the GSA system is attached to a satellite speed controller that will auto-retract the tabs above 15mph, I tested this as well and it does work and running at wakeboard/cruise speed I tried to deploy the tabs and the system would not allow you to do so.

Are you listed still or equally ballasted port/stbd?

This was a dead even weight with NO bow weight, however when the tab deploys it naturally generates a slight list. Without a doubt when that tab hits the water you will hear and feel it, the motor will load up with the extra resistance (maybe 200RPM to hold speed), and the boat will roll about 4 degrees to the surf side.

Thanks for the info man! Sounds like a pretty solid investment. Gonna have to put some serious thought into making this happen on my boat before the season!
BTW, Every time I fly the boss to Palm Springs from Denver I fly right between Mojave and Havasu. I can't help but get a little jealous thinking of you guys down there enjoying your boats while mines still tucked in my garage!

How was the steering with a tab down?

Not bad at all, there is some counter steering involved when the tab deploys but I would say no more then the new boats with TAPS3 however not nearly as much as boats with lateral tab systems like surf gate or suck gate systems. I am sure that as I add more weight it will require more and more counter steer since I will be sinking the tab deeper into the water. Also keep in mind that these tabs are not deploying nearly as far down as Taps3 systems and the tabs themselves are significantly larger than any plate I have seen to date. When I did the install they recommend 10-12 degrees of downward deployment for "optimal" performance. My current setting allows the tabs to deploy 12 degrees down, however the best wave was seen with only 9 degrees of plate in the water or roughly 3 clicks up from full down deployment and TAPS2 at about 3 on the goofy side. The regular side seemed to like just a hair more surf tab but much less TAPS2 deployed. I am starting to see why the new boats are designing rider profiles and presets for individual riders, switching from rider to rider required a whole new set of parameters. I may just start saving and writing down weight/speed/tab settings for the regular people that are always on the boat so we don't have to constantly search and search for their favorite setting.

No problem at all so far I don't regret the investment, it was a tough decision to go for it but after talking to Ryan at Go Surf Assist and giving him my reservations about the wave quality over my listed wave his response was:
"If your not happy with the results, take the tabs off send them back and Ill pay for your gel coat repair"
Seemed like a bold statement especially since he had not seen my current wave, however after the first day I am convinced that this system could be as good as my listed wave.

What are you flying into KPSP? If you get a chance to stop off at KHII give me a heads up the boat is only an hour away from there water temps in the summer are 80+.
