going to spend my summer learning how to ride goofy just so you don't have to switch sides for a lone regular rider got the gettin up part of it down...

I have Go Surf Assist now, just a push of a button, so work on the goofy that way you can do some transfers when you get here. Either way its an open offer, hope to see you out there. Feel free to bring your playlist, ill plug it in.

We haven't met but I've been on a quite a few Lake Powell trips with LittleCricket (for better or worse, ha!) and I'm going to make every effort to be there this year even if I have to sleep in my boat!

Awesome, we hope you can make it out there is a tent camping available on site if you wanted to go that route. We have a few owners that tent camp during the event.

I just got Dave's email. I plan on being there. Been kinda busy so haven't been paying attention to the forum lately. Anyways, I have a room reserved. Thank you for posting on FB because my wife told me about it.

Sorry Gil, could have sworn I had your number from a few years ago tried to call you sooner.

with as fast as these filled up and as popular as this event seems to be morphing into, anyone approached one of the marinas about parking a few houseboats out there for the weekend?
guessing that if the price was right some people might pony up to stay there? most will sleep 3 or 4 couples.

It's all good man, it won't be the first time we camp out. It's good to see that the event is well represented.

Great idea sandm! I'm embarrassed I hadn't thought about this already, as I know they did it at least one year at Echo Bay. I just made a few calls. Forever Resorts doesn't run houseboats out of Temple Bar anymore (stopped 5 years ago). Callville Bay does, but it's quite a trek from there to Temple Bar. I contacted Callville Bay just to see if they would do it. Unfortunately the manager is out until Wednesday this week, and she's the only one that can make the decision. I think we have enough people that we could definitely book one for a weekend if they would be willing to move one down to Temple... please continue to watch this thread for updates. Fingers are crossed.

We did talk to them a few years ago after Echo closed but the distance was a limiting factor and many of the houseboats are not actually in service, just "floatels" as they call them! Hopefully things have changed as they could house an additional large group of people. I know Mike enjoyed the hot tub of the roof!

Update Part 1 - I spoke with the Manager of the Houseboats at Callville Bay today. A lot of information to share. The "floatels" no longer exist on Lake Mead. Echo was able to rent them because they operated under the hotels license. When the hotel closed, they were able to continue operating the floatels. With Echo closing, the floatels went away as well. Callville has a fleet of 34 house boats 50' and up. The problem is, they will only rent them out of Callville. It's a 4 hour transit from Callville to Temple Bar by Houseboat. For anyone that's rented house boats before, they EAT up the gas. If you are still interested, contact Yvonne at (702) 565-4813. Another option (other than RV or Tent camping) would be the closest hotel. That would be Hoover Damn Lodge. http://hooverdamlodge.com/ It's located 47.2 miles away from Temple Bar.

Update Part 2 - The good news now - Fresh Air Exhaust will be sponsoring our event again this year! They have asked me to pass on the following: "we are running a one week, winter clearance promo that takes $75 off any FAE order (our only winter sale). It runs from 2/1-2/7/17. Use promo code SAVE75 when ordering."

Update Part 3 - I realize it's REAL early, but this chart sure looks promising... http://mead.uslakes.info/level.asp
