On your #3 I suggest keeping the Vx. I did tests with and without. The Vx was a different wave and in my view was superior.

Without the Vx the wave is much steeper, more frothy and has a tighter hook in it. The Vx wave is clean.

I can now cross it off my list for next summer of things to do/try. 1 down 294 more to go!

I even made videos!! (although I was testing other stuff too)

See the very last segment for the Vx and suckgate wave

Here it is with no VX

Another consideration is the exhaust fumes. You will immediately need a fresh air exhaust if you remove the Vx.

          Great job!

I did notice more exhaust fumes now that I'm running more weight and even with the Delta Mission and was curious if an FAE should be added. I'm assuming more weight = more gas being used = more fumes but I'm not familiar with an FAE and haven't been on a boat who has one.
          question:
1 - is it now necessary even though I'll still run the VX to get one or can it even be put on
2 - how does it affect the wave if I do consider trying a FAE

I didn't notice an increase in exhaust fumes when I used the suck gate, but I guess there should be. However the Vx pushes most of it into the water. If you take the Vx off, you will notice a ton of exhaust fumes. In my video you can see it.

You can get an FAE with Vx.... but I don't have any experience with them. I waffle back and forth on it. Most guys say the unheralded upside is how quiet the motor becomes. So that is a worthy consideration.

I don't see it affecting your surf wave, since the propeller is already doing far worse things to the water than an exhaust pipe ever would. However at higher speeds I can see it causing some impact. People say it doesn't, but physics would tell me it does something.... may be insignificant, but it must do something.

I do know this: anyone who installs an FAE loves it.

I apologize for derailing this thread. To keep it on topic, I am a suck-gate believer. Mission Delta or otherwise.
