As to the bore centers being wider , what I was saying was with the push rod gone you can get a better valve lay out in the head and you still have some deflection from the liffter to the rocker in an internal cam which is not as precise as OHC , the block is stronger when there is more thickness between clynders , as to the prop , I agree with the apples to apples comparison , however Indmar has been running the GM engines since 1993 and never spec a different prop other then the 1235, I suspect each engine torque tested optimun with those prop specs , as to the rod ratio 3.74 is still a short stroke IMO just like my 1968 vette 427 it had a 3.76 stroke and was high reving motor , and at this point I havent seen any 6.2l ford engine problems , our boat haulers to our dealership have several thousand miles on them with no issues at this time.
I can say this when Nautique ran the Ford GT40 engines and the Excaliber 350 GM in the same years I could tell which engine was in the boat without seeing them , the Ford had much more low end pull and was more solid when I was cutting on my ski, but this is what is good about having a varity of choices everybody can have what they like.

That's cool, glad to hear more than just the marketing hype.

For the record, I don't think the Ford is a bad engine-not necessarily worse than the GM LS series, but not better either. After all, how many versions (2V, 3V, 4V, BOSS/Katrina & now Coyote) have they had since the LS was released? Gen IV basically added DOD & Gen V is going to GDI on the same basic architecture. I'm all for the advancement of technology, but a guy needs a chance to lean on something before making drastic changes-kind of like boats, makes you wonder how much testing is actually done before releasing to the public.

      Cheers

It pisses me off to no end. The people at Tige know how I feel about it also. I usually get a new boat ever few years and this is my last Tige. Boat looks great and has a great surf wave but I'm done.

I don't blame ya man. There's certainly no excuse to have alignment issues with the motor and it's mounts. I can tolerate some QC issues.... every wake boat company has them but major mechanical stuff or stuff like this would light my fire too.

That's not to say that the motor left the factory crooked. Having had a questionable dealer work on the boat previously, you never know. At least that is probably what corporate is going to say.

I am not a mechanic, but an alignment job always has to be done when the tranny is replaced, right? I am not sure how this really adds much time to the repair.

EDIT: Are they saying the motor cannot be aligned at all, because the mounts were not installed properly? Hmmmm....does that explain why the tranny went out in the first place?

That does not get Gibbs back on the water, but I do hope that this gets resolved quickly.
                Be excellent to one another.

Glad to hear, hope you have some fun on that thing now. Did they have to move or modify the engine mounts?

That's awesome! Glad to see the dealer had a major issue resolved in about a week. Now go enjoy! Have a fun and safe 4th weekend!

Told me that two of the engine mounts where left loose at the factory. The dealer used the term realign. Glad to have the boat back but now it's gonna rain everyday here.

Ok, since all that work didn't solve this problem, could you be more specific so some of the experience dealers and mechanics can possibly steer you in the right direction. So you say that it cuts out, what exactly cuts out, does the engine stop or bog down or loose revs? Does the boat start to accelerate and then slow down as the engine revs up quickly until it hits the rev limiter? When this problem happens, what are you doing with the boat? What ballast bags are used, and do you have more than factory standard ballast? What is the taps plate setting? What depth is the water, got any seaweeds close to the surface? Do you get any alarm buzzing from the engine panel? What happens to the engine temperature? What happens with your oil pressure?

If you can describe in as complete detail as possible so we might be able to help you we would be glad to.

Also, sorry again this boat is not cooperating with you, I hope we can get it sorted out.
