I have a brand new swtich I with less than 5 hours on it. I was on it today, and all of a suden started to get water in it. I pumped the water out, then too the boat out on the trailer. pulled open the engince compartment and the bracket holding the engine to the hull has broken off. Is that fixable, and if not is it coverved under the warrenty? thanks everyone.....totally bummed out with the new boat.

yeah, snapped right off, moved the engine forward, and water started to come in through the drivetrain boot......thankfully the boat was at my own dock so I could use a sump pump to pump out enough water to get it back to the ramp. I dont know what to do now, I am going to call the dealer tomorrow im just extremely pissed not even out on the water for 2 days yet.CIH/pcrew founder

If its a bolt issue, Just so that you know there are counterfit bolts in this country.
They come from across the sea. One thinks they are getting a particular strenght, alloy, but in reality its something else. You order bolts from a distributor supplier who gets them form????? Hardware is hardware. No its not. I've seen this over and over and then it becomes an engineering headache. I wonder if TIGE checks or runs any kind of random q.c. tests on the hardaware received to make sure they receive the proper material ordered. I do not mean size and pitch or the documents that come with the material if any, I mean the alloy, strenght, hardness, etc, a full blown mechanical test. I have seen a number of these problems. A classic is to order 316 stainless. You receive a box of bolts that says 316, bolts are stamped with 316 nomenclature but in reality it is so magnetic its not even funny. I'm not saying that you have a counterfit problem in this case but everyone beware. I have also seen metric bolts that are suppose to take a certain torque and when applied the head spins off. May I suggest that they pull all the other bolts in your boat and run a complete test on them. Make sure they get replaced with ones with proper specifications that are not counterfit.
Get a full and complete step by step repair of this also. If you have the bolt I suggest that you find a lab and get some tests done. Compare it to the one they do on the remaining bolts including size and see if you can get them to run a test on the existing shipment from the same supplier. I agree this should be a warranty issue. Its a NEW BOAT! Keep us all posted as to the progress and reason for the bolt failure.

The boat just finished up today, Andrew and the crew at Gettysburg Marine Center really stepped up....new carpet, new mounts, all in a week. Thanks guys! Gettysburg Marine Center is sending the parts back to Tige' for an analysis. Noone has a real idea what happened. looking at the parts, it looked like the bolts just got sheered right in half. Im going to pick up the boat on friday, look at the parts and the pictures taken during the process. Ill keep you updated, and hopefully this doesnt happen to anyone or me again! Thanks again Andrew!CIH/pcrew founder
