I like having both. It gives you lots of adjustability and doesn't leave you questioning, I wish I did gates... or tabs

Do you have both tied to the same controller? How do you go back and forth between them?

I built my own controller to run all 4 actuators individually. You could run them in tandem off a 2 actuator controller with some relays.

Wow, that is cool! Also fantastic wiring in that box.

Did you cut your plates on a cnc?

Yes, I had a local shop waterjet the stainless steel shapes.

Could you email me the cut file for the side slappers? Maybe what actuators you used? I will probably do marine board, but my brother has a cnc router table.

Such a hard decision, slappers or gates.

                    I slightly prefer tabs.

Tab: less drag, less negative steering effects, less rpm, likely less fuel, good push even if wave doesn't look perfect. A bit of list from Ballast can make the wave look as good as gates but may not be required with good front to back Ballast ratio.

Gates: less effort to make a clean looking wave. Can make a great looking wave with no ballast which is great for foiling. To much deployment can rob push.

People say you need more ballast for tabs than gates. Unless I'm running no ballast, I want all I can get in either situation.

I have DXF files I can share. Keep in mind they are not exact Tige copies, but so close they work fine. I have both the old and new versions. Send me your email.
Would you mind sharing the files please? I’ll PM you.
