Spring is here!

Same goes for up here. The surf crew is still up on the mountains sledding and skiing, crazy to think we can go to the mountain and surf in the same day. Mountains just got shut down because of covid so looks like lake season now.

We’ve been milking the last of winter around here. We got up on the mountain 4 times last week. It would have been 5 but it was so hot on Saturday, nobody wanted to go Sunday. I’d really rather it keep snowing but, the forecast doesn’t look too good for that. Looks like boating weather.

Definitely need some more water. I was out in Silver Springs 2 weeks ago, so I took a ride down to the ramp to check things out. Not looking fantastic for this summer, although, if the ramp is low, it might keep some of the Covid buyers off the water this year. Make life nicer for us that launch from the beach.

Haha!! Ramp is closed right now, but the water is coming up. Luckily we can launch from the beaches out there, so us that do that, are good until the lake is too shallow. There were way to many sketchballs on the water last year, so I’m hoping the ramp and lack of water will keep some of them away.

Not sure what happened to spring. First surf comp on Saturday and bring on the snow. Hoping it warms up a bit and I don't need to winterize again...

Really?!? What changed recently that caused them to close? I don't follow the numbers in BC but thought most places were coming down.

Ya, that’s kinda odd. Our mountains are milking every last inch.

They were linking too many covid cases with Whistler so the province decided to shut whistler down and all the other mountains followed suit. They have also closed all inside dining and moved everything to patio seating.

I boarded Crested Butte a few weeks ago....mask mandate in place and lift operators consistently telling people in line to get their masks/gators up. Was there a mask requirement on Whistler?

Yes masks have been required at the mountains all year. I did not make it to whistler specifically but other mountains around the lodges it was being enforced.

We had mask mandates around here and the lodges were extremely limited. Outdoor seating only. Basically your vehicle was your lodge. Doesn’t really matter now. Just about everywhere is closing next week from lack of snow.

The kids and I went out for the first time yesterday. Feels good to be back on the water!
