So going back to the original thread name this is exactly my situation. I posted some about this on another thread. They way the taps 3 throws water is very different than the GSA. I would buy the taps 3 plates if I could. But odds are they would not sell it for an older boat. Any thoughts on that?

I would not assume that TAPS 3 is a more sophisticated design or more optimal than GSA. I think factory surf systems are done in haste to a certain degree. Just my skepticism of OEMs shining through.

I would say you are right, they're definitely not going to sell you the Taps 3 plates. They sold the original vx to owners of older boats and quit doing that within a year, that cuts into their profit of selling new boats.
