Discovery Bay

Just checking if anyone is out surfing in the Discovery Bay area in CA. My wife and I are thinking about going down in that area the last weekend in April, and would like to see if there are any boats that need some extra ballast/riders. We will most likely have a Shred Stixx demo for the weekend.

BTW, Surfdad, that info on pulling a 3 was fantastic! Hopefully we can get our boat out soon, it is still a little chilly here in OR.

Thanks for the props. Are you picking up your Stixx from Jerry? He's usually pretty easy to convince to go out for a ride. We ride on New Hogan, about an hour north and east from disco bay...however, that weekend we are heading to the AzWA wakesurf contest on Lake Pleasant. If you'll be around any later than that weekend, you're always welcome on our Tige.

I believe we are going to try coming down there on Saturday AM (28th), and staying until Tuesday? My wife has some relatives in the area so we will most likely being staying with them.
I am trying to get a hold of Jerry, but it seems like he is pretty busy this time of the year, and we're playing a little phone tag. I'm just trying to have a back up ride in case he is unavailable, and also checking out other surf rides. My boat is the only one we have surfed behind, and it would be fun/interesting to ride behind another setup.

Props to the The Tige Clan, just seems to be very eager to help out a fellow Tige owner.

Just let me know. My boat is parked about 200 yards from Jerry's. Jerry has an MB, and I have a 24V (fully weighted). possibilities of riding in a few differant boats (?).

That sounds awesome, I will keep in touch. I just found out that my wife's relatives live in Galt, so it isn't too far away. Discovery Bay looks awesome, it looks like a watersports haven from the aerial view on Mapquest. It almost reminds me of a community back in Ohio that had a private lake and a "canal" that intertwined thru the entire community that allowed boat access right to your back door.

Greg do you know duane (NVS) that lives that way?

I may know him if I see him. I don't think I know a Duane. I've been living here for 18 years, and Disco has probably tripled in size since then. When I first moved here, there were only about 5,000 people, and half of those were vacation home owners, so we knew almost everyone. Now, who knows 12,000 - 15,000. Way too many. You can't even be safe in the water anymore on the weekends, unless you know of the "Secret Spots".

oh, i see. I didn't realize it was that big. I'm sure you would know him if you saw, heard him, probably one of the loudest boats on the water around their. It's a red and white one, but I can't remember what brand. Oh well. I'll be up there in a few weeks catching some pulls with him and buying some goodies from him as well

I talked with Jerry today, and he said he will be available, and maybe we can all go out together. We booked the trip, and will be there Sat AM until Tuesday early afternoon. Is Monday an option, or do you need to work.

Surfdad, are you available for a Monday ride, I would love to meet you and see your skills.

We're pretty open, we just need to make time either Saturday and/or Sunday to watch our son in a Crew Regatta in Sacramento.

I talked to Jerry yesterday as well. We were going to go surfing, but it was too windy.
It would be cool if Surfdad could put his calculator down and join us all for a "Surf-Out" It would be a nice postlude from Tulloch. What do you say Mr. Walker?

You don't have to ask me twice! As long as it's that Monday, 4/30/07 we are heading to the Arizona contest and don't fly back until the evening of 4/29/07.

After the 15th, I'll play hooky any day to go wakesurf.
