    Board Rack for Wall

What does everyone use for a wall mount rack to store all the surf boards and wake boards? Is there a good one to buy? Is there a good diy project to build one? Thanks as always for the advice.

I have a store your board rack which I like since it is padded and adjustable. You can also order extra arms if needed.

I used (2) 4’ 2x4s and 3 rows of 1” dowels cut to about 16” or so. Used a 1” paddle bit at a slight angle so the dowels slide into the 2x4 at an angle. Little wood glue and a screw into the back of each dowel then mount the 2x4s to your wall.
Mine holds up to 6 wakeboards with bindings. Each row gets stacked, one upside down then the other upright on top of it. Right now it’s got 4 wakeboards, 2 surfboards and wake skate on it. I haven’t noticed the dowels leaving any marks on any of my gear. Cost me next to nothing and is super easy to build.

I just got these from the depot. Work better for wakeboards than surfboards but with some foam or such they work for surf as well. Just don't put your good foam core board on the bottom.

I built this with a 2x4, 1" pvc, and pipe insulation. Works great.

Thanks for the tips. Think I will go the route of the 2x4’s with dowels.

I did similar to this but used 1/2" copper pipe and pipe insulation. I made mine mostly horizontal. They don't ever go anywhere.

Wow! With just a quick look at that first picture in the thread it looks like that guys is holding the pen with insanely long toes sticking out of his sandal.

Since it was raining and I couldn’t take the boat out, I made my rack today. 6 boards and 6 life vest rods. Thanks for all the ideas.

I think I need a bigger garage.... Someone needs to come up with a ceiling mounted rack. 4 large snapon tool boxes, 3 carts, and boxes on boxes of inventory seem to take it all up.
