    I bet the weight of the rider will only pressurize the air in the bottles... provided you have them sealed well enough - which you should.
    Waiting for another good one!

      the 2 liter bottles flex and compress but do not burst - just tried and I go 255.

        I've really been wanting an SUP bad. The dealership I just bought my last boat at had a Connelly 12' board but it was $1400!

        I would love to see an SUP done like this as an experiment {hint hint}

          No fair jbort! The little water bottles do the same thing! They squish, but don't break. In the water, there is a ton of give, the water gets displaced but not compressed.

          This will work, I bet, with just the wrap.

              Hey - was 30 sec test at the curb and dark- what can I say?!?!? the neighbor looked at me weirdly too. Oh well the sacrifices for progress.

                  Then when ordering its all about the bottle number. Im thinking I could get away with a 28 bottle board.

                    Ok, this is just silly. I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that it'll work. Sure it'll float, maybe even enough to hold a man but, from what you are describing doing, no f'n way. The bottles will deform and shift under load. The shrink wrap will start to come apart as soon as you start moving and what you are going to be left with is a giant floating pile of garbage on your home lake.

                    Now, maybe if you sandwiched the bottles in between a top and bottom sheet and then start your shrinkwrap at the back and wrap around the board moving towards the front, you might have a chance of making it more than 100 yards.
                    You'll get your chance, smart guy.

                          I think it will work in that configuration.

                            i think it will fold up like Nikypoo described.

                              Two no votes! I finished the wrapping last night...not pretty. Then, over night the bottles on the side look like they rolled sideways so it is a huge ugly mess, BUT, we'll give it a go to see if doesn't collapse!

                                So we attempted to ride it. It didn't fold, but instead twisted away from the wake and once the nose, such that it was, got a few inches beyond the original plane, the plastic wrap loosened and the bottles got freakishly mis-shapped! None of the bottles compressed at all though. The issue was there was no structural rigidity. James took it out afterwards and body surfed it some. When he was prone he could keep it in shape.
