    Airbaze wakesurf and Bert Burger

I'm not sure if my link below will be usable by folks, but it's a promo video from the folks at Airbaze in Switzerland. Rebecca Ort is one of the owners and I think something like the 3 time WWSC women's surf style champion.

The bigger deal, in my mind, is that they have hired Bert Burger to build balsa composite sandwich wakesurf boards for them. Bert was the 2007 Surfing Magazine Shaper of the year. They are building balsa parabloic railed and balsa skinned composite sandwich wakesurf boards. Burger was part of Firewire Surfboards which currently enjoys the likes of Taj Burrows riding for them. Also his Sunnova brand.

We engage Stretch Surfboards to build for us on occassion and he was the 2005 shaper of the year.

I'm enjoying the development of the technology and bringing some of the best shapers in the world to work on wakesurf boards.

It would be nice to see some more details on that thing. It's got kind of an odd shape to it but, I'm quite sure Mr. Burger knows a little more than I do about that subject.

It is nice to some all the technology filtering in to wakesurfers.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

...and 898 Schwiezer Franken? WTF? I assume that is going to end up around $1000 to get one over here.

Did you just call me a Schwiezer Franken?! I don't know, but pricey it will be. When Eric Roush was building stuff like that for us, he was billing me $800 wholesale. Adding traction, fins, distributor profit, made it a $1,350 board made in the USA. I can imagine the cost after shipping them from Switzerland.

That video really doesn't give us much to go on. Apparently I am supposed to know who he is and go "OMG! I need to fork over my cash now!".

LOL yeah, it's a teaser video, I guess they will be announcing the boards and design soon. For most folks in the sport there isn't a good crossover knowledge of surfboard shapers, especially if they are in Australia.
