Ive been surfing since the mid seventies. Ive been through the long board revolution , short board single fin ,lis fishes, thrusters ,rocket fishes, stingers, eggs, pintails, round tails, swallow tails, boogies, etc. Im absolutley amazed.

        Thanks for following along ronhayes61.

Lis Fish! You understand the general concept of this. Ryan in that film is working on the Lyndsey Lord's formulas and also the concept of a Mini-Simmons. It's super straight outlines.

I'm sure that it will surf, maybe not as pretty as Ryan does in that video, but if we can get it to slide and spin at all, then it's just a matter of developing the needed skill set.

In the ocean there are so many varieties of surf craft, but behind the boat it's a skimboard or a short board. The end.

Keeping my fingers crossed it works!

I think that's the top, laminated. I got crazed with the resin swirls.

You know I love your work but, that one is down right ugly. I suppose that is somehow fitting for this "build".
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

LOL don't couch your opinion! It's funny, Rob Royal of Royal Surfboards out of Santa Cruz said he thought it was pretty darn rad on facebook and yes I checked the spelling of "rad"

At least you know I'm not gonna pull any punches. I think it would have looked pretty cool without the white.

No white? I still have to do the bottom, so I'll keep that in mind. With the white, I tried to put little ribbons of the other colors in it andwhen I first put it on, it looked like that toothpaste with the mouthwash and whitener in it

Geez, so I am going to do the bottom and I must have mis-calculated the amount of resin I needed, I started to run out in the lower right corner and all that was left in the one bucket was RED!

Fast! Down the line speed was as fast as anything 5'6" or so, from this little 4'2" board. No pearling issues at all. It was also ridiculously slippery and slide'y. I could mostly just trim in place, if I tried anything I would do 1080's up to 14's out the back.

James dropped the rope right away and carved and pumped it and he almost landed a 3. The issue with this board being finless is that it was super hard to stop the spin, so almost landing a 3 took all of James concentration to not over-rotate.

At 4'2" long it was able to handle my 200 with ease. Shorter and wider, I think, with a more parallel outline is viable.

Great. Now all of out wakesurfers ate you.g to look like wakeboards.

I guess with those hard(ish?) straight rails and all that surface area in that square tail, its no wonder its fast. Puttin' the square inches down! It's like a big gas pedal.

I just uploaded this of James. This was his first ride, but we had talked about how slippery it was, so he was working on not getting wet in that damn cold water!
