    Wakeboarding in Nuclear Winter

Well, I live about 35 miles southwest of Greenville, where the HUGE fire is located. And all day, even in my house, it felt like I was in a Laughlin or Indian casino. Smoke everywhere. So I thought, might as well go down the hill a bit and go to the lake. Well, the good news, NO ONE was there. I saw 2 other boats, and 1 fisherman. Although one of the other boats was the Hoffmans.

Anyway, the smoke was JUST as bad down there at Lake Oroville and it was strange. We got out of the wind, and found some butter, and had a great time practicing for INT this weekend. We forgot our camera, so I took a few pics with my iPhone. It felt like we were wakeboarding at the end of the world or some nuclear winter.

You can't quite tell by the picture here, but the sun was a burnt red, like a dying star, or like on the planet Tatooine or something.

We had the same smoke in Sacramento and could smell the smoke inside the highrise builldings in the afternoon. It was nice that you found some butter!!!!

I heard that Oroville was a made house last Sunday. Some friends went up there and when they were coming off the lake, it took them 3 hours since there was a lineup of cars and boats. They also said the lake was terrible and very choppy like the ocean. Where are the better places to boat on Oroville? Which fork?

Thanks... We are still wanting to go but can't find the time right now and our friends had a back experence (I know, it was also Labor Day weekend which isn't the best time to boat anyways.).

Every once in a while they end up with huge fires down in Mexico (the still slash and burn farm down there) and the smoke will cover up our sky to look like that. The bad part is that it drives all the insects into your house. They don't like smoke.
