What is optimum rope length for bording? Or is it personal preference?

Beginners ride at a shorter length.Usually 60-65 feet. After that it's weight and speed that determine the length from 70 up to 88 feet.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Start at 65' and move back from there. I personally ride 75' but I started at 65' and moved back as I progressed.

I just had a first time boarder with me on saturday. He was having a hell of a time getting up. I dropped him to less than 60' and he started popping right up. Once he was able to get up consistently, I put him out at 65' and all was good.

Good rules of thumb from the guys. Like Skippa said though, the most important thing is to put the rider in the cleanest part of the wake. TAPS/ballast/speed will all play a roll in the line length. We usually make one run and then add/subtract a 5' section depending on where the cleanest part of the wake is.
