IMHO, 720p is better than 1080i... theres less lines, but it's non-interlaced so the picture appears sharper. That'll have to hold me till I get a 70" SXRD or 50" LCD that does 1080p.

There's no difference between 1080p and 1080i. You can definitely notice the difference between 1080i and 720p. My Mitsubishi DLP does 1080p, so interlacing is never an issue for me.

I have attempted to hook the HDMI to to my Mitsubishi DLP only to not get a picture so I have to revert to 1080i with the component cable. The TV only supports 1080i via this method but I'm okay with it for now....
