Does anyone have an effective way of calibrating their speedometers to the correct speed?

When my dealer and I did the on lake delivery he brought a handheld GPS unit with him. He calibrated the Perfect Pass and the boat spedo both. I have not had to touch either since. On this site the manuals for the Faria gauges are available in the Downloads section. On the site http://www.perfectpass.com the PP manuals can be downloaded there and it also tells how to calibrate the PP spedo. Each manual has good instructions on how to calibrate the spedo. -

search for a website for slalom skiing. Back in the day before GPS we used a stop watch. There is a chart for checking speeds from the first boat guide to the third bouy and for first boat guide to last gate. Its a lost art, but I found one a few weeks ago.
I can remember having a floating keychain that had the times on the back!Comment
