    Engine hesitation

I have a 03 22v with the 350 MPI engine. From day one when ever I begin to accelerate to bring up a boarder, the engine hesitates for a split second. It has never stalled and it seems to idle and run good.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have not been able to duplicate the problem on demand so it's really difficult to get the dealer to fix it.

Possibly bad or old gas? Or have you checked your fuel/water seperator?

I getting ready to have the 75 hours service done so I will make sure I have the separator checked or replaced if needed.

I use fuel stabilizer so I hope it's not the fuel. But, I do pretty much buy my fuel from the same marina so who knows.

      Thanks for the help -Tip

The merc tends to have a split second hesitation. Every merc we have sold in that model does it. Merc says it is nothing to worry about.

I never noticed the issue you guys are describing here. But I read the thread so I started paying more attention and sure enough, a split second hesitation at low RPM as you're punching the gas to get a skier up. No problems after that.

I now have 17 hours on it!

Mine does not do do it everytime and I cannot figure out a pattern...I can assure that if it happened on the test ride and I was told that it was normal I would not have bought the boat.

                  Matt,
Thanks for pointing out that link. It looks like I'm not the only one having this issue. I guess it's time to do battle with Mecruiser.

                        Tip:

All I can tell you is that in my case, it's so minute that you really - and I mean really have to pay attention to notice it.

I have not mentioned it to anyone else in my family and they have yet to notice. We only have 20 hours in the engine. I'll definitely keep paying attention to see if it gets any worse.

                          Saulo,
Mine is the same way, my wife did not notice until I pointed it out to her. I just figure for what these boats cost it should not be happening.

This is great opportunity for Tige to distinguish themselves, they should be battling Mercrusier, not me.

Based on what I seen so far, it's not looking like Tige is going to take advantage of the situation.
