    20022300 Limited Over heated and wont crank

    Just bought a new to us boat and took it on its fist trip, about 5 min after getting it to operating temp we took off to our surf spot and the RMP guage when crazy and the alarms started going off so we shut it down, Water was boiling. After it cooled down we tried to turn it over but it wouldn't crank.
    Thoughts?

      No click? or everything seems like its trying but nothing happens? Mine did this at the end of last season... hydrolock? Check oil for water (will look like a milkshake) though you may not have run long enough for it to show yet as it sits in the bottom of the pan after settled. Also pull all spark plugs to check for water in the cylinders.

        Pulled the plugs and water ran out, let it drain and then put a towel over each side and cranked it. Water only coming out of two plugs. Hoping is just an intake gasket fix. Looks like we wont get to try out the new boat until the 4th of July..

            Since you got water out of the cylinders I would assume its everywhere. ATF in cylinders and turn over but don't run. Then reinstall plugs and run on fake a lake till hits temp then check oil for water. Change oil and filter till oil checks out clean. You will not want it to sit with water in the block. You need to run to burn off the moisture. I changed my oil like five times to be sure. If you ran without cooling water be sure to check out the exhaust components as well just to be sure no damage occurred. In my case mine was due to reversion through the exhaust system. Still runs great though

              The previous owner is willing to help us as long as we take it to a guy he knows, so we did. He is pulling the water manifolds to check them.

                Well looks like both head gaskets went when the impeller went, I have never had an impeller issue before, although we always carried a spare. Is this worse than a normal failure? From what I have heard when it starts to over heat you have clue as to what is causing it, this overheated in the blink of an eye and the alarms went off, we just the boat off immediately and got a tow back. It wasn't a gradual spike in temp. Mechanic said low compression in two cylinders, but thinks it should get better when he cleans all the rust out and lubes it up? thoughts?IMG_5452.JPG
