    Fuel pump ??

    Hello all,

I have a 1997 2150WT with a 377 scorpion. I believe my low end fuel pump is going out and not holding prime. Won't restart, won't idle.... ran fine then today it wouldn't restart. I finally got it running again and it didn't want to stay running.

Thoughts? Lower fuel pump, upper pump, something else?

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Dave

    Dave,

I think there is only one fuel pump? I don't have the Black Scorpion engine, so I'm not sure in your setup.
If you suspect fuel delivery, the easiest way is to check fuel pressure. It should be easy on your motor by just placing a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on your fuel rail.

There are so many options. Fuel quality, tune up, IAC?

When my fuel pump died, it just died. Worked fine, shut the boat off, never would re-fire. I took it to a very knowledgeable mechanic I trust and he said when they die, the die fast. It works and then it doesn't. They sound noticeably ill when they die.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
