2009 22ve with EX 343 shut down without warning while running. All vitals were good, but crank battery was dead and engine was jump started earlier that day. System was charging and voltmeter read 13.8 volts before shutdown. Engine cranks but will not restart. Verified that it has spark and fuel delivery at fuel rail. Any ideas?

Not the starter. To clarify, when I turn the key to the start position, the engine turns over, cranks for a few seconds, but will not start.Comment

Hmm... generally if an engine has fuel, spark, and compression it will at least try to run.Comment

Tracked problem to distributor cap causing one cylinder to fire sporadically, multiple times out of sequence. Installed a used cap we had on hand and its running!! New part is on order. Thx.Comment
