    Speedset paddle wheel

Can anyone here confirm for me if the Airmar paddlewheel used by Tige is the same as the one that Perfect Pass uses? I thought I'd change mine out over the winter And ordering from PP is easy since they're a canadian company.

No I have Speedset but I want to replace my paddlewheel. Older PP systems also used a paddlewheel and I was wondering if it's the same one used by Tige on their Speedset systems. The lady at perfect pass I talked to thought it's probably the same, but she couldn't confirm it.

Getting it from them (if it's the same one) is easy and cheap for me. My nearest Tige dealer is 400km away and in the past has proven to be basically useless when it comes to parts for my RZ2, so I've been trying to avoid using them unless its a last resort.

Why do you want to replace your paddlewheel? In doing a search here are a couple of threads that may be of use:

The first mod on my 05 22v was a nautic laugic GPS kit. I have PP but works for Speedset too.
I did have some voltage issues initially but after mailing back and some modification (no charge) I was good. The install takes about 10min...very easy. The guys there are great to work with and money well spent.

I gotchya now. Since its an Airmar tri-ducer, you are not bound to sourcing through a tige dealer. With the correct model #, you can order from a number of places. Im guessing you are just needing a paddle wheel service kit? Tige used the Airmar tri-ducer that has speed, depth and water temp all in one and PP used only a simple paddle wheel assembly for speed, IIRC.

X2! This is the best option to get rid of all of the issues associated with the paddle wheel. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

I'm trying to get rid of the surging i get while using my speedset. Since this is a relatively easy and inexpensive thing to do, i figure it can't hurt to try. I have a few other things i'm going to try but maybe this will help.

I'd really love to try the Nautilogic GPS upgrade, but my "boat money" for this winters projects will be going to other things first.
