I had the same problem that I have seen others have with the plastic disk under the throttle knob that you pull up to take the boat out of neutral had failed. This may not be a permanent solution but it seems to be working fine.
First I drilled a new hole at the same angle as the old hole.

Next I bent the wire out a little so it would grab the disk better

I do no think drilling the new hole did as much as bending the wire out so it would grab the disk again.
