Little bit late following up on this, but I did get stainless mufflers made by FAE and got them all put on…. They look and sound great…. Wasn’t too difficult at all getting the old fiberglass ones off and these new ones on. Well worth it I’d say.

Not sure that I’ll get a response as this thread is almost 5 years old, but with those stainless steel mufflers, how hot do they get? Fuel line runs fairly close to the starboard side muffler.

I have two pin hole leaks in my port muffler, and looking to replace with something.... what can I use for a temporary patch for my pin hole leaks?

Hey guys. Thanks for sharing on this thread. I too had a small pin hole leak in one of my fiberglass mufflers. My boat is an 04 21i. I took your advise and contacted Fresh Air Exhaust and ordered stainless steel mufflers with bafflers. It took a little effort getting the old mufflers out and installing the new ones. The boat runs great, no more leak, and has a little deeper sounding rumble to it when you get on the throttle. Here are some pics:

Be careful if you got them hot that is usually when they crack and start to leak. I went thru this a couple of times. I repaired them a few times then just replaced the fiberglass mufflers with straight stainless pipe. Now I don't have to worry anymore about them cracking and leaking. Call Larry at FAE if you want to go this route. Cheaper and quicker than a fiberglass muffler. Hate to tell you but they are nut fun to pull out and it sounds like you might have damaged them. Good luck.

What did you use to repair the fiberglass exhaust? I've got a pinhole leak on the starboard side....it's too much trouble to remove the whole piece...

Did you also add the FAE to system or just replaced the muffler with the stainless pipe? Was the noise level acceptable?

Hey guys the stainless straight pipe is way cheaper than the fiberglass mufflers by several hundred dollars. Give Larry a call at Fresh Air Exhaust and he can let you know what it will cost to make some for you depending on your dimensions.

Ive replaced the muffler 2x. It isnt any fun taking it out or putting it back in. What i ended up doing the second tine was taking off the exhaust riser. Once that was off it wasnt any problem. I am curious as to the cost Topaz as to the SS pipe you had made instead of the fiberglass. If you go with the fiberglass you have to call a authorized Tige dealer and give them your hull # so they can order it directly from the muffler manufacturer. It only took me like 2-3 weeks to get mine drop shipped to my residence. It also is costly to replace i think around $650 or so.
