    1999 2100i Sputtering Issue

Hello, I am new to the forum as well as a new Tige owner. The boat is a 1999 Tige 2100i with a 350 Mag EFI. I am having an issue with my boat almost on a daily basis where after about 30 minutes of wakesurfing, the boat sputters & there is no power. I do not believe it is a vapor lock issue as the extra fuel pump was installed already on the motor to solve that issue. We do run a lot of weight in my boat on the starboard side but nothing that I think should cause this issue. When it starts to sputter/lag, I can just pump the throttle between halfway and full for about 5 minutes and it will all of a sudden take off and be good for another 5-10 minutes. I had the fuel pumps checked at the rails, did a complete tune up - wires, distributor, plugs, ect - and still the same issue. I hooked up a codemate to the motor and there are no codes showing on the computer. Last weekend I disconnected the fuel line from the tank to the motor and ran the motor off a portable 5 gallon tank and there was zero issues. Same weight configuration as normal which makes me think that there is some kind of venting issue. Also, it is not bad fuel as I use the same fuel in my 1993 Malibu and she runs like a dream. Anyone experience a similar issue like this? Any help would be appreciated.

sound like maybe blockage in your tank..or line in your tank or no venting right? if you can move it to a portable and have zero issues? sounds like you have it narrowed down to something in that arena.

Thanks for the quick response, that's what I was thinking as well however I wanted to make sure that others haven't experienced a similar issue to this and the issue wasn't because of that. Is there a check valve or anything on this tank? I've been looking online for the last two days for a tank schematic for this boat but I have found absolutely nothing. or an anti-siphon valve? I did notice the other day at the marina while filling up the gas cap would not come off and it was almost suctioned in towards the tank; i had to use channel locks to remove it. Do you know where the tank vent is located at on the tank?

there is an anti-sipohn valve at the tank on the fuel line. Then on the other side of the tank there is a vent line. Make sure both are clear of any blockage. Just watch it on the thread of the anti S valve the aluminum threads can strip easy.

Check your drawstraw in your tank. Mine had the same problem. and I found the rubber pickup had broke off and wouldnt pick up fuel bc of it.
