engine sputters then won't run over idle

I have a 2011 rzr with the 343 hp pcm. This is the first tournament boat I have had after boating for about 15years I really only get to you the boat will on summer vacation. We can surf for over an hour or so then the boat will sputter then it will only run at an idle. If we let it sit for 20 mins or so we can run for another 20 to 30 min the it happens again I have changed both fuel filters and the low pressure fuel pump. It is under warranty still but when I only have a limited time to use the boat this is very disappointing. Anyone ever have this happen?

Next time it stops try taking the fuel cap loose. Listen for air trying to get in. If you hear it hiss open all the way. wait a minute and put back on. Try to start engine. If that works then the fuel tank vent is blocked somewhere.

Check the raw water filter for debree and also make sure the clear plastic cup is faceing down angle, they can develope an air trap and cause fuel purculation.

How would an air trap in the raw water strainer cause a fuel issue? Are you referring to vapor lock? If that's the case you can pour cold water on the fuel pump or wrap in a wet towel for a few minutes to cool down the fuel in the fuel pump. There shouldn't be an airtrap in the water strainer, the impellar should have enough suction to prevent that, unless the strainer isn't tight, then air could be coming in.
