Steering Cable on a 2001 21V

Can anyone tell me the length for steering cable on a 2001 21V?

I have an 05 22v the cable was 18 footer but I put 19 footer in and it works great.

I replaced mine in my 01 21V Rider's last summer and I think it was 17', but I can check tonight when i get off work. I got the Teleflex Extreme. I'm pretty sure the model number was SSC15417. I'll post again later when i know for sure.

Thanks! The 17' did the trick. Now it feels like the throttle shift cable needs to be replaced.

My 2001 21v did the same thing after I replaced the steering cable! turns out the shift cable became wedged under the tank & was kinking. I lifted the fuel tank some to get the new steering cable through, and ended up pinching the shift cable when bolting the tank back down. They say the shift cable rarely goes bad.

dang.. good info... thy did you run it below the fuel tank though? I just put mine over the top bro...
